You can use either the Ethernet port or connect wirelessly but if you are trying to add this hotspot to an existing plan how much data you’ll have will depend on the plan you have. We upgraded our phone plans to AT&T’s new Elite tier but it didn’t allow us to add the hotspot to that plan. Luckily we already had the hotspot on an unlimited plan so we kept it there. If you can’t get the hotspot on an unlimited plan you may be better off using your phone’s hotspot instead.
