“Can I use just a sim in this we have an extra sim on our plan and it’s fully unlimited plan will it work In this or do you have to start a plan within the thing like built in program or does it it will it take a sim”

You shouldn't have any problem using your unlimited line. If the sim card you have doesn't fit (full size sim card. Not micro like new phones take) just go in to a store for the correct size sim card on that line.
