I use my own router and the device is showing 2 connections. But I have 12 connections with phones, printers and computers that are using my router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You shouldn't have any need to ever connect the hotspot to the router. The router and the hotspot each provide and transmit their own service separately. You usually connect to the internet through your router, if it goes down you would just need to switch your devices' connections over to the hotspot to resume internet connection. The hotspot doesn't need any additional equipment in order to provide internet service to your devices. The device description does not specify what the use of the ethernet port is, but my best guess is that the port is an output port, allowing you to connect a device to the hotspot via an ethernet cord rather than wirelessly to access the data service.
