my cable looks like one on left but much more utilitarian. don't know what one on right is. if your input accepts the type on the left i would recommend it.

One is a fiber optic (light) connection, the other is an electrical connection, and I regret that you cannot connect a fiber optic cable to the headphone jack of your computer. I hope this helps.
