Yes, all speaker wire is analog, as are your speakers. If you are using a digital source, such as a CD player, the DAC (digital to analog convertor) in your receiver needs to convert the signal into the analog your speakers need. So long as your receiver has an input marked as CD for example (or any input that is HDMI), you should be good with your digital sources.
