• It has a throttle if you don't want to pedal. The motor assists when pedaling.

• On the Aventon Level2, you can either use electric power via throttle lever or pedal power from a choice if 8 speeds. Recommend using both as this bike features Torque Assist meaning that the harder you pedal the more electric power you are assisted with. Awesome feature!
