“Is there suppose to be something to plug into the charging port on the unit during use so that water does not get inside there ?? I didn't see anything in my box to stop water from going inside it or does it matter ??.”

No. There is no cover for the charging port.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The USB-C socket is sealed from inside. It has a stand with drainage to keep it standing up while not in use. After a few hours the socket is dry. Charging with a wet socket is probably not a good idea.
