Can one safely swim with the Basis Peak? null

I use my Basis Peak to track me in the swimming pool. I swim for one hour everyday and I have had no issues with the watch.

Yes, but Peak doesn't always register the activity. You have to be swimming REALLY hard for it to register even walking level of activity. I don't know if it is the motion of the amount of force that doesn't register if you are swimming less intense laps. For reference I swim approx one mile in an hour if I am not pushing hard and it doesn't usually register. If I sprint or push for a 1/4 mile it will register sporadically and end up calling it 20-45 steps or something like that. It does read my heart rate, temp, etc...just not the steps or activity IQ.

I was told by the store I purchased from it was waterproof (the only fitness watch that was). Can't verify yet.

Yes! But it won't track distance underwater. I believe it's good for 30m depth.

I have been swimming in my pool and had no issues. It's just starting to get warm, so not many opportunities, but I was nervous at first. 20 minutes in the pool and it runs like it did the day I got it.

According to the instructions you can swim with this on with no problem. I have showered and washed my hands submerging it in water several times with no problems.

On the basis website, it says that the peak is water resistant up to 5 ATM... but the best buy specification states that it isn't water resistant. (https://store.mybasis.com/) Unless there are multiple models that I cannot find on the basis website, I don't understand why there is a discrepancy between the two sources. I want to believe mybasis.com.

No, the basis peak is water resistant but not water proof. I do not even bathe with it on. Also do the chemicals in the water, and the irritation commonly caused by the strap I do not recommend it.
