“How does this actually work. I have a newer model computer. But don't you still have to have a Ethernet cable to connect to the adapter and wall or you just connect the adapter to the computer and it should work”

Yes, you still need an ethernet cable to connect this adapter to the outlet in the wall. This adapter requires a usb-c port on your computer (Mac). Make sure you have a usb-c port. There are different ethernet adapters for USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and Thunderbold.

Almost all come with ethernet ports from your internet provider. You need a ethernet cable for the length, then you need plug the cable into the modem or router that you have and into the adapter which is connected to your comper. Leave your wifi on so the driver can be found, you may have reboot, but if you see the internet is connected then you just need to turn off your wifi and make sure it works.
