“Sometimes when making coffee (not espresso) all the lights start flashing and coffee maker stops brewing. No combination of button pushing restarts it. I have to unplug itand then re-plug back in. It then starts working. Very annoying.”

I get what you mean.Just be patient. I just turn it on. Wait a few seconds then proceed with pushing desired cups. The noise is annoying, though.
