“When disconnecting, do I still have to do the 'safely remove hardware & eject media' for each device that's connected to the hub? Or do I have to do that just one time for the hub itself?”

• No you can safely remove the hub and it will eject the media and stuff that in it

• I have to eject each of the media individually.

• I've never "properly disconnected" the hub but you still need to disconnect any device attached to it.
