I needed this to supplement the new docking station I got for home use with my new laptop. Just too many peripherals, and this ended up more reachable for those occasional extra hookups, such as an SD card reader, pen drive, or recharging portable earphones. No problems!

I'm a PC gamer with several controllers that each have their own wireless USB dongle. I have a 50 foot HDMI cable and USB cable running from my PC at my desk out to the living room so I can play my games out there on the couch. I have this USB hub plugged into that long USB cord, and for my purposes, it works great! I'm able to use several controllers as well as my keyboard/mouse combo and even my wireless headset dongle, all are plugged into this thing! As a side note since this is a USB 2 hub, I would advise against trying to plug in hard drives and things like of that sort that will use lots of bandwidth. Since controllers and a mouse/keyboard combo doesn't use all that much, this hub being USB 2.0 works for me.

After purchasing AND returning multiple hubs from multiple vendors, this one is by far the best, and more affordable. It got me back up and running in seconds flat, didn't have to worry about updating drivers, AND it did't fizzle out and suddenly stop working like the others. Reduced all my cluttered cords, and it was easy to use...just plug it in and go.

Modern laptops have less and less external support, e.g., no CD/DVD drive, no Ethernet port, and fewer USB ports. I got this to connect my wireless mouse & keyboard, camera, scanner, CD/DVD drive, and connections for my phone and tablet. That's a lot, but this little device handles the load perfectly.

Finally able to connect my mouse, keyboard, camera, travel monitor and speaker all to my laptop when I travel. Tried wireless keyboard mouse combos but who has time for batteries when traveling. I need the for sure wired connection every time and I have that now!

I do a lot of testing for home automation and I put this right on my computer so I can reach it easily to plug in devices. Works great, but I don't usually use it for transmitting data, just power. However, the few times I have used it, it worked just fine.

Usb2.0 7 Port Hub with external Power , easy to connect has 7 ports bought it on sale from best buy. Great budget usb hub. It doesn't support midi instrument keyboard.
