I ran into the same problem. For some reason, the filter receptacle does not reset its position, so you need to force it back into position before inserting the new filter. Some people use tools to reset the position (like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/vx2CtzN8GMQ or this one: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/W6ZSzuRwqY4). I ended up modifying one of my old filters as a "wrench" to reset the receptacle.
