Thank you for the question! With Totaltech new purchases like a new tablet will automatically get the Best Buy Protection Plan added at checkout. The Best Buy Protection Plan covers the tablet for hardware repairs like cracked screen from drops or things like the touch going out on the screen. The Totaltech would cover any software repairs like reinstalling the Operating System or removing corrupted apps. If the tablet is purchased outside of Best Buy or prior to the purchase of Totaltech then the Totaltech plan would cover software repairs and discounts hardware repairs on the tablet.
