I know factually that it does not cover mechanical issues--only electronic ones. If I'd chosen to keep my Mac Mini, it would've had to be shipped to Apple to have a new hard drive installed, but I don't know if BB's 20% would apply to Apple, since the Mini was long out of warranty. Almost anything that requires coming to our homes will cost me $100 minimum for a 1-hour stay. I've encountered no hidden fees, and have no idea when they'd apply. BB Geek Squad is a very up-front group of workers who NEVER try to hide ANYTHING, per my experience!
