I wouldn’t think so, my back fenced in yard has a canopy of trees and therefore grass will not grow and it’s a dark powdery sand. My dogs wait until they come inside to shake. This Bissell vacuums it very well, also my previous Bissell did well, but apparently 6 years of vacuuming chewed up sticks is all one can take. Lol
