Only if you want to download them while actively watching. I bought a flash drive and it won’t auto record to the device. Pretty useless

You can use a USB or flash drive, whatever you want to call those two things for downloads! Keeps you from having to pay a monthly subscription. The highest gig it will hold is a 256 gig flash drive. So far I’ve had no issues! Hope this helps
