Any motion from it will automatically send alert to your phone through you blink app as long as it is on, you can see everytime movement in area to where you set cameras.

I’d say yes because I went to get some water in the middle of the night while my husband was sleeping and when I got to the kitchen area it notified my husband and he woke up only to find me in the kitchen.
