No you do not purchase a subscription. The alerts go directly to my phone.

Yes and I was told at Best Buy that there was no subscription or monthly payments and now I have 4 cameras and can’t see any of them unless I pay it sucks

A subscription is not required to use the Blink cameras. For accounts created after 4/15/2020 should you choose not to continue the Blink Cloud Subscription Storage past the trial period and/or use the sync module 2 and USB flash drive for local storage for the Blink Mini, Blink Outdoor and Blink Indoor cameras, you can still access the live view and receive notifications however nothing would record. A subscription is not required for local storage.
