A:AnswerHi Amos! The Blink Outdoor 4 cameras do not come equipped with a siren feature, but do feature two way talk. If you're looking for the ability to sound an alarm siren, the only Blink camera with that feature built-in is the Wired Floodlight. If you're looking for a more traditional, centralized alarm system with window and door sensors I would suggest checking out the Ring Alarm 8-Piece Security Kit as a good jumping off point for a self managed traditional system. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
A:AnswerHi Cathi! Yes Best Buy can install Blink security cameras through their Smart Home Services and Wireless Camera Installation packages. Their service includes mounting the cameras, connecting them to your WI-Fi network, configuring the Sync module and integrating the Blink app to your mobile device. Book directly from the stores or on their Wireless Camera Installation page, they will quote prices there. Hope that helps!
A:AnswerHi T367W,
Great questions! Yes, the Blink Outdoor 4 is completely wireless. It runs on two AA lithium batteries with up to a two-year battery life, so there's no wiring needed — just mount it wherever you need it.
As for range, here's what you can expect:
With the included Sync Module Core:
Camera can be placed up to 100 feet from the Sync Module
Want more distance? Optional upgrades (sold separately):
Sync Module XR — Extends range up to 250 feet in XR mode, or up to 400 feet in XR+ mode
Keep in mind that walls, doors, and other obstacles can reduce the effective range, so clear line of sight will give you the best results. The camera also detects motion up to approximately 30 feet away.
For most standard homes, the 100-foot range with the included Sync Module Core works well. If you have a larger property or need cameras in outbuildings, the Sync Module XR would be worth considering.
We hope this helps!
A:AnswerHello Dooleywop and thank you for your question! The connectivity range for the Blink Outdoor 4 depends on your sync module. The included Sync Module Core needs to be within about 100 feet of your cameras. Blink also offers a Blink Sync Module XR and camera combo pack that can place cameras up to 250 to 400 feet away. Hope this helps! Have a great day!
A:AnswerHi Chris! Live View and motion alerts are always available, even without a subscription, but with the Sync Module Core you'll need a subscription active if you want more advanced features and the ability to save clips to the cloud. If you're looking to avoid a monthly subscription, I would consider a bundle that features the Sync Module XR. The Sync Module XR features a built-in Micro SD Card slot that you can use for the local backup feature, which will save motion clips locally to view later. The Sync Module XR supports all the same features of the Sync Module Core as well as the ability to have two of your Outdoor 4 cameras connected up to 400 ft away! I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
A:AnswerHi there! If you're looking to use a Micro SD Card for the local storage option, you'll need a bundle that includes the Sync Module XR instead of the Sync Module Core that comes in this one. A:AnswerHi there! There are tons of ways to mount a Blink Outdoor 4 camera to the outside of your home, either permanently via screws in the bottom of the base or with some strong mounting tape. You can even find some third party solutions that allow you to mount onto vinyl siding without having to drill or damage it. I would suggest checking out some installation videos to get a good handle on how the cameras mount, as it can be a little difficult to tell just from the promotional images. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
A:AnswerHello! The Outdoor 4 Wireless security camera from Blink does not have a light. It does have nightvision and a blue indicator light. The Outdoor 4 Floodlight camera has a true motion activated light if that's what you need. Hope that helps!
A:AnswerHi Ivyvy, yes — the Blink Outdoor 4 has user-replaceable batteries.
It uses 2 AA 1.5V lithium batteries (included), and Blink recommends non-rechargeable lithium batteries for the best performance. Hope this helps!
