There is not an option for continuous operation. The longest clip of video it will take is 60 seconds when the motion sensor triggers.

Ohioanmom, You are able to access the live view on the Blink XT2 cameras at anytime however, note there  is a limit to the continuous live viewing on the Blink cameras.  Currently, you are able to view up to 5 minutes at a time in 30 second intervals.  After 5 minutes you would have to initiate a new live view session.  
The Blink XT2 cameras do utilize IR night vision technology, allowing them to capture footage even when it’s dark out.
