Notifications are sent once the clip has successfully uploaded, any lag time would be caused by slow or weak WIFI/internet signal. You are able to access the live view on the camera at anytime. There is however a limit to continuous live view just to preserve battery life, currently this is set to 30 second intervals that can be continued for up to 5 minutes.
