The Blink cameras record clips base on motion detection only. Blink cameras do not offer continuous recording, though you can leave the system armed for motion detection for any interval of time. The Blink cameras themselves are battery operated and can be placed anywhere however the sync module needed to operate the cameras would need to be plugged into a normal wall outlet at all times and within 100ft of the cameras in any direction. The Blink system does currently require a 2.4ghz WiFi-based Internet connection to operate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had to get a WiFi extender so it would reach the cameras once I mounted them outside. I'm not sure if that's an option for you but it's worth looking into. I keep the sync module directly on top of router and the WiFi extender helped boost the WiFi on my front porch.
