This is a great case and should protect your tablet from a very short fall. The magnet is very strong and will probably stay closed if dropped. I have tried one other case that Best Buy sells but returned it. That one didn't have the sleep/wake function. This one does. Hopefully this answer helps.

I can't say for two meters, but I did knock it off the kitchen counter onto tile floor and it held/ protected perfectly. I think that height is about a meter.

Yes I have knock mine off of the dining room table and it stayed closed did not hurt it
