Please try again later.ShakeyAcres: you might want to try adjusting one side up and the other side down, then loading your big dinner plates in the lower rack under the “up” side of the middle rack. I have lowered mine on both sides to accommodate tall drinking glasses and big wine glasses. Lucky for me, I have smaller dinner plates.

Please try again later.The middle shelf is adjustable but, for our dishes, we have found that lowering the middle shelf is not too useful since our larger plates will no longer fit on either shelf. Maybe that is just a problem for us but I would suggest that you measure plate diameters to see if adjusting the height of the middle shelf downward is helpful in creating more room. It does not for us. But it still is a wonderful dishwasher.
