A:AnswerI can't see why it would matter where the water shutoff is. Most folks will be connecting to a sink where the drain hose goes, and you could have an extra water valve there. It has a water sensor in the bottom pan, which shuts off the incoming water if there is a leak. You can get a dishwasher water hose that shuts off if the water flow is too high. I suppose a plumber would want to install a shutoff valve near the dishwasher. I think that Bosch thought of just about everything.

First, the dishwasher height is adjustable. I think the listed height may be a minimum. I don't know exactly how adjustable it is, but it will go up at least half an inch, which would close the gap you are asking about. I suggest looking at the owners manual (on Bosch.com) to determine what the max height is.
If the height is not adjustable enough, you could cut a a piece of 1/4" plywood and placed under the dishwasher to raise it up a little more. With the bottom front panel and the black skirting on the dishwasher, this would probably not be visible.
