“Will the mounting brackets work for hanging from the ceiling, or are there separate brackets for hanging from the ceiling? These will be used as the rear channels in a 7.1 system, replacing old Bose 201's”

• They are for both... Be careful putting the speakers on the ceiling though, they're heavy enough to leave a good mark on your head if you have butter fingers.

• Thanks for the question, Mike. The brackets included with the 161 speakers can be mounted on either a wall or from a ceiling.
