I don't know what you mean by crossover but I have an Echo Dot in an adjacent room and the Bose Soundbar 500 in the living room. The microphones on the Bose are very sensitive so even if I'm in the other room and am speaking to the Echo Dot (with the wake up word "Alexa"), it is the Bose that will respond. It doesn't seem to cause any problem other than that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This product specifically is very sensitive to hearing you say Alexa I also have an Echo Dot in the same room I had the sound bar in and I just changed my wake word on my dot.

The Bose Soundbar 500 will pick up your voice when you're near but from far or a different room, it doesn't really hear you (unless you speak very loud). You should be able to use Alexa in both rooms without any issues. As far as how many simultaneous Amazon streams, well that depends on your type of account or music-streaming service.

Essentially both devices will measure volume levels and defer to the one it thinks you're closer to.
