The magic ingredient for movie theater experience
|Posted .The Bose Bass Module 500 is the perfect companion to the Bose Soundbar 500. The subwoofer is the magic ingredient that allows the soundbar to produce that movie theater ambiance where you can feel the low rumble of a thunderstorm or the thumping approach of a dinosaur. Although compact in size, at loud settings it has enough oomph to annoy neighbors but at normal settings it offers deep and smooth bass that is not overpowering. Music generally sounds great although I think the bass produced is better suited for movies than some genres of music. It has a kind of boomy quality instead of being tight so it does really well for low rumble effects. The bass also seems more noticeable to me when playing music compared to watching movies where it can sometimes be subtle. Adding the subwoofer to the soundbar was easy. To do this, I plugged the subwoofer to an AC outlet and used the Bose Music App to add it to the soundbar. It detected the Bass Module 500 Subwoofer and I was able to easily paired it with the soundbar. I like that it is wireless so it can be placed at any convenient location rather than be tied to the soundbar. I have it placed next to my sofa. After pairing, the app reported that I had a Bass Module 700 instead of the Bass Module 500. That’s weird. I tried to redo everything by removing all accessory speakers and attempted to add the Bass Module 500 again but the same thing happened. The app keeps reporting that I have a Bass Module 700 after pairing. It probably doesn’t make much difference but I was worried that it might not calibrate the system correctly if it thought I had the more powerful 700 instead of the 500 paired to the soundbar. The app does allow you to adjust the bass level to suit your taste. Overall the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Bass Module 500 is a great home theater sound system for those who do not have the space for a true 5.1 surround sound setup. It is able to produce crystal clear audio with exceptional voice clarity along with the muscle to produce room thumping bass and the low rumble ambiance of a movie theater.

Pretty Impressive Sub
Posted .I purchased this Bass Module 500 together with the Bose Soundbar 500 about 4 months ago and my whole family is really loves the combo. It is hard to believe how powerful this little 10 inch cube is. It definitely takes any music or movies to a whole new level, you are really feeling it. Honestly, I normally put may be half of the volume for everything and it's pretty loud and powerful. Sometimes I'm scared that my neighbors downstairs will come and complain. I really love the design of this subwoofer, it's very elegant and sleek, matches well with my furniture. The size is very compact, not too heavy. I've owned other subwoofers in the past and they were bigger and bulkier with some soft fabric around that my cats scratched a lot. This one doesn't have any fabric around. it just has some hard porous surface on the sides. I like that it connects wirelessly to the Bose Soundbar 500 once you turn it on, makes it very easy to use. All I normally have to do to turn them both on is to turn on my bluetooth on the phone and it will automatically suggest the Soundbar 500, then I click to connect and done. It's faster then going to the Bose app. I normally like to play music on my phone during the day and at night sometimes we use a projector to watch a movie with my husband. One little suggestion that I can give is not to put it on the carpet because it will absorb some of the bass. We have a medium carpet and it has some foam underneath to make it cushiony. When I first put the subwoofer down on the carpet, I was not sure if it was on or not, then I placed it on the lower shelf of the TV stand and I could feel a dramatic difference right a way. So, after using this Bass Module 500 and the Soundbar 500 for 3 months, we believe that it was a good investment because can save money on going to the movie theater and watch something at home. Also, we are saving not only on movie tickets, but also on snacks. Usually in the movies food or snacks are highly overpriced for what it is, we can get some organic or natural snacks in the supermarket and eat at home while watching a movie. I think, this set would make a great gift for anyone who appreciates great quality electronics and likes to watch movies and listen to music at home. I had quite a few friends inquiring about it when they were in my house.

Big Boom
Posted .I love the boom and power the Bose Bass Module 500 puts out. I use the Module in conjunction with the Bose Soundbar. These two items together release pure sound quality. At times, when I’m in my shower and I can clearly hear the bass coming through my home. One of my favorite things to do is watch movies in the comfort of my home. The Bass Module 500 gives my movies a surround sound effect. The power is so great, I can feel like I’m in the theater if I want to. When I connect the Bose sound-bar to my Alexa App to play all my favorite music stations, The Bose Bass Module perfects the sound and projects quality boom. The Bluetooth feature is great, as it works with many of my other Bluetooth compatible items like my iPhone. The set up was simple. You use there Bose App and it takes you through the process step by step. I do wish the electrical cords were a little longer. I had to use an extension cod in order to hide my Module behind my chair. It does fit perfectly and very discreetly behind my chair. This is a perfect give for anyone who loves Home entertainement. It’s not bulky and it’s the perfect addition to any soundbar.

Adds the perfect amount of bass
|Posted .The Bose subwoofer is a great companion to the Bose soundbar 500. This adds the extra lows that completes the soundbar, to give you a great home theater experience. The subwoofer has a premium look and feel to it, all while making it small enough as to not take up much space. It also matches the soundbar really well, in terms of design. The set up is very simple and straight forward. Once you get your soundbar set up through the Bose music app, it prompts you to add more devices. Simple push the button on the bottom of the subwoofer, and voila, connected. The bass is very clean. It maintains good lows, without distorting or bottoming out. Weather you're listening to music, or watching a movie, the subwoofer provides that extra level of bass that completes the experience. The subwoofer makes for the perfect companion to the Bose soundbar 500, which I highly recommend getting the two together. This really adds the complete package to a home theater.

For a full theater experience, you need this sub
|Posted .This Bose 500 Subwoofer is really awesome, when paired with the Bose 500 Soundbar. I’ve had some other non-Bose soundbars that have been pretty good, but this one takes it up a notch. I watched several different types of shows/movies/sports that had commentary, music, cartoons, etc. Comparing it to my existing sound system, this one is more crisp, full and overall more realistic sounding. It sounds really good without the subwoofer, but if you want the true full movie experience, you must buy the Subwoofer. The best part was when I was watching a Transformers movie battle scene with vehicles flying across the screen, rockets blowing up, and my floor and walls rockin’. I honestly thought it was like a movie theater, and I could actually feel every moment in the movie. I had a smaller sub with my existing system, but even when it was turned way up, it was never even close to this Bose subwoofer. The place that the subwoofer sounded the best, was right next to the couch, closest to the TV. I moved the sub around and played the same part of the movie over and over. Yeah, it was actually fun to feel the rumble over and over. I have my couch set up in an L shape, and have the Subwoofer under an end table, with the bottom open section pointing into the room. Having it in the corner of the 2 couches (where they would connect like an “L”), made the sub a little too overpowering, and I was hearing the rumble a little too much, when it was turned up. Having it in the general direction of the TV, seemed better. However, I think if I had run through the AdaptIQ configuration in all the places, I bet it would have been able to adjust it accordingly. However, having it to the left of me, or away from the TV area, it didn’t quite seem ideal, so try to keep it in the general direction of the TV, as the majority of the sound is coming from that general area. Right out of the box, the packaging is well labeled (sort of like a mini puzzle), and it would be hard to be damaged when mailed. That is always my fear, when I have something mailed to me, versus picking it up in the store. No need to worry, Bose is well aware of it, and the packaging is perfect. You will need to download the Bose Music app to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar. I didn’t see that in the instruction guide, which surprised me. It connected the soundbar easily, and then had to do the same process when adding a subwoofer. To pair the subwoofer, click on the circle icon of the 500 soundbar in the bottom right corner of the dashboard. Click the “Settings” icon, then click the “Accessory Speakers.” Lastly, click the “+ Add Bose Accessory Speaker” and it will begin searching. With the 500 subwoofer, it requires that you push the circle button on the side near the bottom, next to the power cord (note: on the 700 Subwoofer, there is no pairing button on the unit, it will automatically show up if it is plugged in). I have a 700 and a 500 soundbar/subwoofer, but it will not allow you to connect a 700 sub and 500 sub together with the same soundbar. Trust me, I tried to add 2 different subs to the same soundbar, and really rock the house. But, unfortunately, it will only pair with the same version soundbar, so you can connect (2) 700 subs together with the 700 soundbar, but not a 700 and 500 sub to the 700 soundbar. However, you can connect (1) 500 subwoofer to the 700 soundbar, or (1) 700 subwoofer to the 500 soundbar. The 700 is a better subwoofer (larger too) at the higher volume, where you can really feel the thumping bass, but the 500 is no slouch either. Something that I have not heard of before, is the “Dialog Mode” option that adjusts the soundbar to have a better sound for programs that are dialog, such as Football games, or tv shows. It is different with movies, but I found that it increases the volume for the range where human voices fall into. For the subwoofer, I have my setting at +80 Bass, +30 treble, +0 Center Channel, and it sounds great overall. On the action-packed theater-style movies, I HIGHLY recommend turning the bass up to 100, and you will feel the floors rumble, no joke. I do really like the Equalizer-like adjustability for the sub and soundbar (-100 to +100 for bass/treble/Center Channel volume). Most others don’t have that capability. You can toggle the subwoofer on/off too, so if you are watching it late at night, while the baby is sleeping, you can simply toggle it off in the Accessories Settings, and it will turn off. In conclusion, this is by far the best sound system I have ever had, and I have had quite a few over the years, upgrading each time, different homes, different rooms and setups. I am a big Bose fan to begin with, purely based on the direct comparisons with other similar products, and it is extremely hard to beat the sound from a Bose speaker system.

Deep Rich Bass
Posted .Hi am using this with the bows 500 sound bar and wow old do they make up hair. Clothes that you adjust the equalizer in an app on your phone see you can turn the bass up and down as you like as well as the volume and I have to say for this thing and I know it’s close but it is incredible. I am a particular person where it comes to using my audio quality and this far surpasses any sub woofer I have ever used in the past which is quite a few. I honestly cannot see the reason for someone to not purchase both of these together.

Perfect companion for Bose Soundbar 500
|Posted .The Bose Bass Module 500 Subwoofer is a nice compact system with some oomph. This unit comes in at 10”w x 10”d x 9.5”h, which doesn’t take too much room and allows for placement flexibility. Not to mention that the Subwoofer is wireless. One thing to note is that the wireless capability is based on soundbar compatibility, which at this point seems to only be compatible with the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Soundbar 700. To set up the wireless connection, you must use the Bose app to do so. Set up was pretty easy, however the instructions could do a bit better job explaining which settings to go into. The wireless connection must be established through the Soundbar settings, not the app settings, which wasn’t too clear from the instructions. Once in the app, you must click on the Bose Soundbar icon (Soundbar must be set up first), then within settings click on Accessory Speakers. Add the accessory speaker and connection was seamless. Even though the Subwoofer is wireless, the unit does allow for audio connectivity via 3.5mm input jack. Which would allow you to use this subwoofer with other soundbars, however a big draw to this unit is the wireless connectivity. I have this unit connected with the Bose Soundbar 500 and it definitely amplifies the home theater experience as it makes the audio come more to life. Even though this unit is wireless, the connectivity is excellent. I have not experience and sort of lag from between the soundbar and subwoofer. A drawback to this unit that some may see is that it lacks customization. There are no dials or buttons to this unit, it is really just plug and play. Not that it is a bad thing as Bose does do a great job with their audio products. Some people may like to be able to fine tune their settings, which this cannot be done on the unit itself or the Bose. Most compact subwoofers probably don’t have this functionality anyways, but wanted to point that out. Other than that, this unit is looks to be a quality build and produces some good bass. If you are really into cinema or music and have purchase the Bose Soundbar 500 or 700, this unit will build on the audio experience. If you don’t have either of these soundbars, then you would not be leveraging this unit’s key feature which is the wireless connectivity.
