Power pack noise? Recently bought these and really like the sound but power block makes a humming/whining noise. Very quiet but louder when muted on control pod and I am wondering whether this is meant to happen/normal? I would have thought for the money it would be silent.

Call Bose Customer Service. They are great. Mine don't make noise like that. Take them back to where you bought them and get another pair. I just got these too, but I bought them for my daughter 15 years ago and she is still using them.

Nope, not suppose to happen. You may have grounding wire issues in you house or office. Dangerous.
Or transformer is bad, then return it back to Bose.

The Companion 20 speaker system uses a switching power supply which may emit a slight high pitched noise. This noise should not be heard at normal listening levels or from a distance.
