“Power pack noise? Recently bought these and really like the sound but power block makes a humming/whining noise. Very quiet but louder when muted on control pod and I am wondering whether this is meant to happen/normal? I would have thought for the money it would be silent.”

Call Bose Customer Service. They are great. Mine don't make noise like that. Take them back to where you bought them and get another pair. I just got these too, but I bought them for my daughter 15 years ago and she is still using them.
