No, and I actually own 2 pairs. ( wife and mine) But, if that did happen, I would go to the Bose website and ask them to replace the ear piece. They have great customer service.

Wiping the surface of the ear-cup cushioning with a dry cloth to remove any residue left behind can help to preserve the material. However, these parts are also available to order for replacement.
