No, it'll work fine on an Android. I'm using mine on a Samsung, but the phone call features on the headphone won't work. It has to do with the included cable which is iPhone specific. There is an Android specific cable which can be bought from Bose.

I also bought it and have an android. No it will not damage your phone. The buttons will not work but the mic will work. I love it even though the buttons on the cord do not work. And no they do not have an android version.
