Yes, if you do not have any battery left, you can still receive audio and function as a regular headphone using the backup audio cable without the Noise Canceling compatibility.

Yes, however there is an audible difference. Plus the headphone jack is a 2.5mm, not the standard 3.5mm. But you can can listen to them while charging too, just not wirelessly

According to the instructions, yes. I haven't tried exactly because I haven't run out of battery. After round trip to west coast from east coast, still had 90%. At this point, I honestly can't imagine running out of juice

Probably, because I used them wireless, then used them wired without recharging first. Then plugged in to charge and they were already fully charged.

Yes, I connected with the audio cable and turned the power off and they play fine, however you do not get the noise cancellation in this scenario.
