Just to clear things up: it is only rumored that the next iPhone won't have a 3.5mm headphone port. It hasn't been confirmed and multiple "leaks" of supposed iPhone 7 frames have contradicted each other. Some don't show a headphone port and others do. So it is anyone's guess at this point as to whether or not the next iPhone will have a headphone port. Now, the good news is that Bluetooth is Bluetooth. The iPhone is always going to have Bluetooth for the foreseeable future and it will likely be updated to Bluetooth 5.0 next year. Bluetooth is backwards compatible so even Bluetooth 6 devices, ones that will likely be released in 5-6 years, will work with these Bose headphones (which use Bluetooth 4.1). If anything, you want to be looking at buying Bluetooth headphones in order to ensure compatibility with the next iPhone. The rumors are saying that Apple is getting rid of the headphone jack but, at the same time, they will be using the Lightning port for audio output. This means that you will need to buy an adapter (or Apple will provide one with the phone) in order to use wired headphones with the next iPhone. So again, it would be better to just stick with Bluetooth as you won't have to worry about wires or adapters, they will simply work. To clear one more thing up that someone else mentioned: NFC is not something that is used to transmit audio. Bose added NFC to these headphones so that smartphones and tablets using NFC could easily pair with the headphones via Bluetooth. The NFC chip in the Bose headphones only instruct the media device how to connect quickly, it automates the process instead of having you go into your device's settings and manually adding the headphones. NFC is NOT used for the audio part, that is Bluetooth only. Even if the new iPhone opened up NFC support beyond ApplePay, it wouldn't connect to these headphones using it.

Please try again later.Not sure what new iPhone you are talking about but if you mean the iPhone 7, it is rumored to have eliminated the 3.5mm jack and that headsets can connect via the Lightning port with an adapter -- or wireless, your choice. These wireless headphones will certainly be compatible with any new iPhone.

Please try again later.well the new iphone hasnt come out and if rumors are true and you can only connect them that way, then you can still connect to the bose headphones, either through NFC if that becomes available for the iphone or through Bluetooth which is why these became wireless so you could lose the wire. so if your looking to buy these bose headphones then you should not have a problem if the new iphone model comes out.

The new iPhone will also include a dongle to listen with a headphone jack that these headphones come with. Which you can use to listen to music even if the headphones run out of battery for noise cancellation
