• Not if you have them sealed well in your ears. If you can't hear environment because of the seal they can't hear your music in my experience.

• No, they are not a "blasting" volume. The noise elimination technology keeps you from needing to play the audio loudly. I've never had anyone say anything about the sound eminating from my Bose earbuds.
