You are right - it was very hard to ascertain if the battery is included. The Battery is included, you just have to charge it 8 hours / overnight for the first time. After that when you plug it in to charge, you just have to move the power switch on / off... once moved the blue charging light will come on. Also - I was assuming I would have to install the battery - but I did not - it was already installed.

The battery is built in. Always comes with a battery and you have the option of purchasing a second battery.
