This sound bar is not designed to give you theater sound, it enhances the sound, and voice clarity of what you are watching, unlike TV speakers which have no depth to their sound. If you want theater like surround this is not for you.

Please try again later.A soundbar plays all its sound from the soundbar, which is directly in front of you; however, better soundbars may have internal software that trick your ears into thinking some sounds are coming from your sides. Surround sound speaker systems have multiple, separate speakers that are placed to the listener's front, sides, rear and even ceiling and often include a subwoofer. Separate signals are sent to each surround speaker, giving a far more realistic sound field. You can buy decent surround sound speaker systems for the same price as you'd pay for the more expensive soundbars. Soundbars are easier to set up and take less room, surround sound speaker systems are much more satisfying; however, most surround sound speaker systems also require additional, separate electronics, like a surround sound receiver.

Surround usually is multiple speakers and has the sound from all directions making sounds like they're coming from behind you. With the new tv's of today, they are so slim, they don't have room for speakers, so sound bars were made to give your tv really good sound. sound bar is to improve your tv sound...actually the more expensive ones can even sound like surround sound and they take up less space than surround systems. surround is for more of the movie experience usually contain back speakers and a bass speaker for depth. I'm more into sports and tv watching, so the clear speech dialogue was more important than feeling like I was standing next to an explosion.

Meaning, you won't hear the water fall off camera to the sides or behind. For the money and good sound, this is a great value.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sound bar is basically to enhance the sound of TV system. Dialogues will be crisp clear and other minute details could be heard. Sound system is where you will have theatre like experience for watching movies, songs etc
