Hello, and thanks for taking the time to ask a question about our Soundbar 500. We can confirm that the usage of 2 of our Surround Speakers will allow this sound to play 5.1 Surround Sound. The Soundbar connects wirelessly to the receiver boxes, which are then cabled to the speakers. The Soundbar itself will play the front 3 channels. If you choose not to use the surround speakers, this will still play a simulated-surround sound through the Soundbar, but this is not true surround. We hope this answers your question!

yes . Bose has a pack of 2 satellite speakers which u can put in the rear to give the surround effect.
