Q: QuestionWould I turn on the TV 1st thing in the day the soundbar doesn't come on right away is that normal? It seems to take a good 5 minutes before it kicks in
Asked by Lisa.
- A:Answer 1. Try going into your TV settings and find the setting to turn OFF internal speakers or select external speakers. Some TV's have this setting and if set to "Internal" may cause a delay in the soundbar switching sound output to itself. 2. If your soundbar is not specifically plugged into a port on the back of your TV labeled as "HDMI-ARC", you are just using an older HDMI port without the Optical cable. This might affect the time it takes to kick in. Add an optical cable and use the Bose app to set the setting to turn on the bar when an optical signal is present. 3. If you don't have an optical cable between the TV and soundbar and are using a port labeled HDMI-ARC on the back of your TV try moving the HDMI cable going to the soundbar to a standard HDMI port at the back of the TV and add an optical cable between the TV and soundbar. Again, use the Bose app to set the Soundbar to come on when the optical signal is present. This will reduce the delay in power up. 4. If you are using an HDMI-ARC port without an optical cable. ADD an optical cable between the TV and soundbar and again, use the Bose app to set the setting to turn on the bar when an optical signal is present. 5. It is also possible that the soundbar is coming on but is having trouble establishing a WIFI connection to the rear speakers or Subwoofer accessories. If you have any of these accessories, check to see what your WIFI signal strength is. It may be weak causing what appears to be a delay in turning on. Only way to fix that is to increase the signal strength by moving your router closer to your TV or vice versa, buying a better quality WIFI router or adding a WIFI signal booster in your house.

Q: QuestionIs the 500 newer than the 300 and can you use with cinematic 15
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello, there. Thank you for your question! Yes, the Soundbar 500 was released on September 20, 2018 and is part of our new Smart Home speaker family. We've also released the Soundbar 700, which is more comparable to the SoundTouch 300 in terms of volume output, bass, and simulated surround sound capability. The Cinemate 15 system was engineered as a standalone product and does not currently pair with additional components. If you are looking for a new soundbar for a different room in your house, the Soundbar 500 is perfect for smaller rooms. The Soundbar 700 is great for medium to large rooms. Both of these new speakers feature built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Amazon Alexa. For information, please visit our website: https://bose.life/2N1psFN. We hope this helps. Have a great day! Q: QuestionHow to I get Alexa to be less sensitive? She responds when I'm in a completely different part of the house trying to speak to another Alexa device.
Asked by TimL.
- A:Answer Unfortunately, you can't change the name that the Bose responds to, only the other devices. So while this is a work-around, it's not ideal that the other devices would have to accommodate this device's problem.
