• It runs on battery power but It comes with a dock which can be plugged in to AC power. The speaker itself can be plugged in directly to AC power using the supplied Micro USB cable and adapter. The battery will be recharged at the same time.

• yes, there is an electrical outlet that the USB cord connects to. Very easy so you can charge with the USB cord anywhere as well.
