Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cradle is configured as a thin "tray" that has electrical pins that mate up to the unit, easier then using the mini USB connector. The tray also has the connector for plugging into the wall socket. The designers must have wanted a simple way to just drop the unit on the tray to charge, then to just grab and go. It still plays while on the cradle so you do not loose anything.It may seem like overkill but I like it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cradle is what the speaker sits on to charge. You plug the power cord in to the cradle and sit the speaker on top on it and it charges your speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cradle can be used as a charging station and stay plugged in. You can then remove the speaker from it and use it on its internal battery at a different location. The speaker can also be plugged in directly instead of using the cradle.
