You would think it would be the other way around. I have an Android phone, but the only version of these that I have ever seen on sale were the Apple IOS version. So I caved and bought them. The mic still works with my Android phone, you just can't control the volume with the in-line volume buttons. I have to use the volume rocker on my phone. Not a big deal, but still a little annoying. Sorry, I know that really didn't answer you question, but I wanted to let you know you weren't alone. :)
