I bought this speaker unit to increase volume and this one had a bass control. It also fit nicely in the unused cavity. The volume meets my requirement and the bass meets my expectations. I do not have room for a separate bass speaker. My tv is a Samsung. It took awhile to figure out how to sync the two together. I now need to sync it to my direct tv remote. It has a nice sound.
