Hi Pierre, Thank you for your question. This ceiling fan must be connected to a standard household electrical junction box and is designed to be operated via the included remote control. It is not compatible with an existing electric rod or powered extension rod. The included 5-inch downrod is for mounting and wiring only, not for supplying power independently.
