“Why is it so hard 2 dial in the machine to make perfect espresso & when I had it close twice, the next several shots were diff each time. I thought once u dial in it would stay the same every time but it changes every time even on the SAME settings!? HELP”

It depends on the grind setting and how hard you tamp. If you have a setting that work a couple times look at how hard you’re tamping, the harder you tamp the slower the pour will be. If you’re constantly switching between coffee bean brands that’s is also a reason why your shots aren’t pouring correctly. Every company roasts its beans differently, so any new beans you get you have to adjust the grind settings for a good pour.

From day to day it would taste a little different but settings were the same. The only answer that I have found for myself has been two different things 1. How hard you press when you tamp your grinded beans into the portafilter before brewing. I was fairly confident this wasn’t the fix but has been something I’ve found different between my cups and when my girlfriend makes a cup. Eliminated this by purchasing a new tamper that you can click or gravity tamp. So it’s the same every tamp now regardless who’s using. 2. The biggest help and fix I have found is Instead of powering on and start brewing instantly I run empty cycles. Works as kind of like a preheat option. Before grinding beans I will run 2 cycles through with no coffee and just dump the water out each time. It gets the portafilter warmed up as well as the group head instead of brewing while it’s cold.
