• This microwave requires a minimum clearance of 4 inches (10cm) is required between the microwave and any adjacent walls, and a minimum clearance 8 inches (20cm) above the microwave. Not adhering to these requires can cause the unit to malfunction, and to void the warranty.

• Not a problem. The top really doesn't get hot. The manufacturer recommends certain clearances for air circulation.
