If I go for long periods of time without printing, will the laser cartridge and/or printhead dry out like ink jet does? I waste most of my ink cleaning the heads and still do not get quality printing most of the time. Thanks null

I have an all-in-one ink jet that dried out fairly quickly between use. I have a college student still at home (not for much longer!). The ink jet was too problematic with the ink drying out between uses. This brother printer is reliable and hard working. It has not dried out at all. Also, it connected to my WiFi easily. We’ve moved it between a few different rooms and it continues to reconnect each time. 
Very very happy with this copier! Highly recommend !

The shelf life for the toner for this machine is 2 years if the protective bag is unopened or 6 months after the protective bag is opened.
