The printer should have come with cartridges. After that, they cost money. It feels as if they are as expensive as normal ink (ugh, super-expensive), but one tank lasts a lot longer.

Free ink for the life of the product or to begin with? I’m not aware of any that come with free ink for the life of the product. As for to begin with, depending on where you purchased (I’m assuming Best Buy) it should say if it comes with 1 year or 2 years worth of ink. Most come with 1 year. However it’s depending on where you buy it and the price. The price is lower typically for less ink.

I thought the same thing but my ink didn’t last a year and I bought more ink.

I think the company estimates that it will last a year.
