“I print items on and off, so not on the regular basis. Will this be an issue as far as the ink drying up? Can I go a month without printing? Or will I need to print something every week, every two weeks, or monthly?”

you can go long periods without printing you just have to keep the printer on so it will self-clean and keep itself ready

When the machine is off, it will still periodically clean its printhead to maintain print quality. To prolong the length of the printhead, provide better ink efficiency, and maintain print quality, you should keep your machine plugged in at all times.
