I have had this brother printer that uses TN630 Toner Cartridge - Black 
for about a year. So far the toner has stayed in good shape without constant use, but I would not place it near heat or AC vents.

Toner is a powder. should not dry out, but may absorb moister.. Never had that problem with one of my lazers before.

No, unlike the liquid ink that you need to at least print a sheet or two every week or else the ink head will clog. With this toner, you don't have to worry. I hope this helps.

Inkjet tend to dry out more then laser toner cartridges. You should be good to go for a while.
